Happy Tanabata, friends! 🎋😊

Not that it took me a year to finally finish this illustration. 🙈 But, anyway, do you know about this festival? Tanabata or Star Festival is a Japanese festivity that usually begins on July 7 (7/7) to celebrate the star deities Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair).
The legend tells about Princess Orihime, a weaver who crafted the most beautiful clothes by the Milky Way river in heaven. But because of all her hard work that kept her so busy, she was also very lonely. So her father, God of the universe himself, arranged for her to meet Hikoboshi, a cow herder who lived across the river. The two fell in love so deeply that they started neglecting their work to stay together, which made Orihime's father forbid their love, only allowing them to meet once a year, on the 7th day of the 7th month, as long as they continued to work hard the rest of the year. Helped by a flock of magpies that made them a bridge on the river, the lovers could finally meet again. The legend says that if it rains on that night, the magpies can't come. So, everyone prays for clear skies so the lovers don't have to wait another year to meet again.
Isn't that a sweet story? 🥰❤️
This illustration is a celebration of this beautiful reunion, and the wallpaper set is available both in my shop and as a time-limited free reward to my dear patrons until the end of this month.
By the way, this month's shout-out goes to my first patron, who kindheartedly joined us even before the official launch announcement: Husband! 🎉👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Some praising for this man, please! 🤣 And to my dear new member Ashley Boehret! 🌷
