I'm stepping away from working with digital patterns, at least for now. I love designing, don't get me wrong. I'm so lazy about following instructions that I'll probably never stop coming up with my own patterns. 😅 Plus, designing is a creative outlet that other mediums just don't satisfy for me yet.
That being said, I’ve decided to stop sharing my patterns altogether—either for sale or for free—at least for now. This wasn’t a sudden choice. It came from a mix of heartbreak, burnout, and a shift in perspective that’s been growing inside me for a while.
As much as I love the creative process, the experience of sharing that work online has become increasingly disheartening. It’s hard not to feel the weight when your passion turns into just another piece of content floating around in a sea of indifference—or when you're treated over and over again like an automated pattern generator.
Because of all that, I’m running a super sale on all my digital patterns until August 24th (because that's when my last Etsy listing expires! 😁). After that, I’ll be taking all of them down from my sales channels. It’s my way of gently closing this chapter—offering my patterns one last time before moving into a new phase of creativity.
But as I said, I’m definitely not done designing. In fact, I’m excited to explore new ways of sharing my creations—ways that feel a little more real and connected.
I’m considering working on a pattern book someday, or even creating kits that I can sell as physical products in my online shop and bring to craft markets too.
That also links to another new idea: using my website newsletter to send out pattern testing calls! I want to find ways to meet people and interact more closely again, where the experience feels genuine and meaningful. So if you're a tester and that sounds fun to you, subscribe to my newsletter—maybe we’ll become pattern pen pals! 😂
Even though online life has lost a lot of its magic for me, knowing that a few real people connected with my creations still means the world. I’m hopeful that this change will lead me to a brighter and more heartwarming journey ahead—one stitch at a time! 🧶
